Abstract:
PURPOSE: To restrain thermal strain and thermal damage of a cylinder head by communicating an auxiliary combustion chamber and a main combustion chamber with each other by a communicating port arranged in a base, swelling an adjacent part of a flange part outside among a barrel part of the base, and tightly fitting it to an adjacent part of an opening part of a peripheral thick wall of a cavity part.
CONSTITUTION: An opening part 4 is bored on a cylinder head wall 3 facing a main combustion chamber 2, and a flange part 9 of a base 7 is housed in the opening part 4, and an auxiliary combustion chamber 10 is formed over the inside of a barrel part 8 of the base 7 and a cavity part 5, and the auxiliary combustion chamber 10 and the main combustion chamber 2 are communicated with each other by a communicating port 11 arranged in the base 7. In this case, an adjacent part 8a of the flange part among the barrel part 8 of the base 7 is swollen outside more than a separate part 8b of the flange part except it, and the separate part 8b of the flange part is fitted in a peripheral thick wall 12 of the cavity part 5 by holding a clearance 15. Next, this adjacent part 8a of the flange part is tightly fitted to an adjacent part 12a of the opening part of the peripheral thick wall 12 of the cavity part 5, and the thermal concentration on a peripheral thickness 13 of the opening part 4 is relieved.
