Title:
INDIUM TYPE MULTICOMPONENT OXIDE VISIBLE LIGHT RESPONSIVE PHOTOCATALYST AND HARMFUL CHEMICAL SUBSTANCE DECOMPOSING AND REMOVING METHOD USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3903179
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indium type multicomponent oxide visible light responsive photocatalyst capable of utilizing not only an ultraviolet region but also a visible light region, and a harmful substance detoxifying treatment means for decomposing a harmful chemical substance in a liquid or gaseous phase using the photocatalyst.
SOLUTION: The indium type multicomponent oxide visible light responsive photocatalyst comprises a multicomponent oxide semiconductor represented by the general formula: MIn2O4 (wherein M is at least one kind of an element among Ca, Sr and Ba) being a photocatalytic component. The photocatalyst for decomposing the harmful chemical substance comprises this multicomponent oxide semiconductor. In the harmful chemical substance decomposing and removing method, the harmful chemical substance is irradiated with light containing ultraviolet rays and visible light in the presence of the photocatalyst for decomposing the harmful chemical substance.
