CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with an input means 2 for inputting finger kind information of a registered fingerprint of a specific individual, a storage means 1 for storing the finger kind information and registered fingerprint information by relating them to each other, and a display means 4 for displaying the finger kind information of the stored specific individual. In this state, at the time of collation, a fingerprint of one finger corresponding to the displayed finger kind is inputted. In this case, the displayed finger kind is a finger kind of registered fingerprint data. Accordingly, the fingers at the time of registration and at the time of collation coincide with each other, therefore, an unnecessary reject which follows up a difference of the finger kind is avoided. In such a way, the improvement for identifying the person himself can be contrived.
