Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound stable during storage and preparation, having excellent dyeability, because the compound is oxidized on use to produce melamine, and useful as a hair-dyeing agent, a dyeing agent, etc., for hair, wool, silk, etc.
CONSTITUTION: An inodole derivative of the formula [R1-R3 are H, R4OCO (R4 is a 1-8C alkyl, a 7-14C arylalkyl, etc.), R4OCOCH2, HOCH2, etc., wherein R1-R3 are simultaneously not H]. For example, 1,5,6-tri(t-butoxycarbonyloxy) indole. The compound of the formula is obtained e.g. by reacting 5,6- dihydroxyindole with an alkoxycarbonylating reagent, an aralkyloxycarbonylating reagent, an aryloxycarbonylating reagent or a carbamoylating reagen represented by formula: R4-OCOX (X is a halogen, imndazolyl), R4OCO-O-COOR4, etc.
