Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner having a compact external view by ensuring the space for disposing a heat exchanger in the height direction thereby decreasing the height dimension. SOLUTION: The indoor unit of an air conditioner comprises a casing 2 where a fan 11 is disposed in a supply air duct defined by a front guider 2a and a rear guider 2b to communicate with an air outlet 5, left and right evaporator holders 3 and 3' disposed on the opposite sides of the casing and securing the opposite sides of a heat exchanger 10, respectively, a front panel 7 being fixed to the front face of the casing and the evaporator holder with a guide rail 7a for guiding an air filter 6 being provided at the inside part of an air inlet 4a and a suction grill 8 being fixed to the front face of an air inlet 4b, and an installation plate 20 being secured to the wall face and covering the back face of the casing and the evaporator holder while stopping the left and right evaporator holders wherein a part of the guide rail corresponding to the upper part of the heat exchanger is cut and the upper end part of the heat exchanger is set in the cuts 31-33.
