Title:
INDUCTION FURNACE FOR MELTING METAL, LINING FOR INDUCTION FURNACE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUCH LINING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2014025696
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide an induction furnace for melting of metals, a lining for the induction furnace, and a method for producing such a lining.
The present invention relates to an induction furnace for melting metals that do not connect inductively in a solid state. The induction furnace has a lining containing a mixture of graphite and silicon carbide. When a metal to be melted is in the solid state, an electric conductivity of the lining is higher than that of the metal, but when the metal is in a molten state, an electric conductivity of the lining is lower than that of the metal. The invention further relates to a lining for the induction furnace and to a method for producing such a lining.
