Abstract:
PURPOSE: To furnish an induction heating device for butt welding capable of welding the abutting surfaces in opposition to each other by press-contacting these with proper pressure after heating and besides, excellent in overall efficiency of electric power consumed for induction heating.
CONSTITUTION: The abutting surfaces 1a of respective plates are opposed to each other with a small gap opened and subjected to induction heating by an induction coil 6 in a state with energizing chips held respectively between both ends in the cross direction of the abutting surfaces 1a.
