Title:
INDUCTION MELTING FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3308101
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent deposition of carbon on a coil cement and an insulating coating of a water-cooled copper tube and to prevent an insulator damage of a heating coil by forming a main ingredient of castable cement for constituting the cement of alumina and setting an iron oxide content to a specific value.
CONSTITUTION: Cylindrical coil cement 6 formed of castable cement 5 is provide at an outside of a melting chamber 3 formed of refractory material 2 for holding molten metal 1 through a cushion material 4, and a heating coil 8 in which a water-cooled copper tube 7 is spirally wound is integrally embedded in the cement 6. Further, a plurality of return magnetic path iron cores 9 are radially disposed at outside of the coil 8, and a back surface side is supported to a furnace frame 10. The cement 5 is formed of dense alumina having high strength in such a manner that iron oxide content is set to 0.3% or less. Further, a surface of the tube 7 is coated with varnish 13, cured on its surface, then a fluorine resin tape 14 is wound, a glass tape 11 is further wound and impregnated with varnish 13.
