Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of magnetic flux saturation on a rotor core to thereby improve the efficiency.SOLUTION: An induction motor 100 includes: a rotor 11 which has plural rotor slots 13 filled with nonmagnetic and conductive material; a stator 12 having stator teeth 16 formed on a stator core 12a wound with a coil 14, which encloses the rotor 11. The number of the rotor slots 13 is larger than the number of stator slots 17 which are formed between neighboring stator teeth 16. Each of the rotor slots 13 has a projection 41 protruding outward. The distance between the neighboring projections 41 is larger than the width of the front end of the stator teeth 16.
