Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make a cooler for a stator compact and reduce the trouble occurrence percentage of the cooler, by laying a cooling liquid metal feed pipe through a stator core and circulating a cooling liquid metal by leakage flux. CONSTITUTION:Cooling pipes 18 for causing a liquefied metal such as sodium or potassium to flow to cool a stator are laid through the stator core 14 of an electromagnetic pump in which an inner duct 12 and an outer duct 11 are concentrically provided and the stator core fitted with an annular coil 15 is placed around the outer duct 11. The cooling pipe 18 are coupled to an upper header 21 just outside the stator core 14 and then coupled to radiator cooling pipes 19, which are as many as the former cooling pipes 18 and provided with radiator fins 20 and placed outside the stator of the pump. The heat of the stator is thus radiated. Since the cooling liquefied metal is circulated by the leakage flux of the stator, the cooling system is compact and has a small trouble percentage.
