To aim at improvement of reliability of a lamp assembly receiving power by induction from a primary coil.

The lamp assembly 210 includes a secondary coil 214 and a lamp connected in series, and a lamp circuit. The lamp circuit includes a capacitor 216 connected in series with the lamp and the secondary coil 214 to synchronize and resonate. The capacitor 216 is preferably selected to have a reactance that is substantially equal to or slightly less than the reactance of the secondary coil 214 and the impedance of the lamp. And also, the lamp assembly 210 includes a sealed transparent sleeve 252 that entirely encloses the lamp circuit so that the transparent sleeve 252 is fully closed and unpenetrated. The transparent sleeve 252 is the lamp sleeve itself, preferably with the secondary coil 214, the capacitor 216 and any desired starter mechanism disposed within its interior.
