Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain reduction in cost and the miniaturization of this image pickup device by obtaining an oblong hole as a diaphragm hole, the width of the oblong hole so that a space frequency component is removed by diffraction, and functions as an optical low-pass filter, and controlling a light quantity by means of changing only the length of the oblong hole according to the brightness of an object. CONSTITUTION:The image pickup device is composed of a diaphragm 20, a photographing lens 22, and an image pickup element (CCD) 24, and the optical low-pass filter is not provided. The diaphragm 20 has two diaphragm blades 20A and 20B, and they are mutually moved in the directions of the arrows, so that the size of a diaphragm hole 20C is changed. In other words. the diaphragm hole 20C is the oblong one having the width (a) and the length (b), and only the length (b) is changed according to the brightness of the object. The width (a) is set so that the space frequency component corresponding to the picture element pitch of the image pickup element incorporated in an objective image is removed by the refraction.
