PURPOSE: To provide a pin insertion jig for a housing type assist grip, which does not allow an assembly to be completed as far as a pin is insufficiently inserted.
CONSTITUTION: A rod 14 the tip end of which is stricken into contact with the rear end of a pin 7, advances the pin 7 so as to move it to the side of a fixed table 2 from a holding section 9 via a baffle plate 18, so that the pin 7 is thereby inserted into respective insertion holes 5a and 6a. In this case, a ratchet consisting of a pawl member 16a and a locking member 17, controls the rod 14 not to return before insertion is completed. Since the rod 14 the return of which is controlled, is still stricken in contact with the pin 7 at its tip end, the movement in the radial direction of the pin 7 which is insufficiently inserted, is thereby checked by the baffle plate 18.
