To provide an indwelling needle provided with an indwelling needle main body which has excellent breaking resistance and kinking resistance while an appropriate flexibility is ensured and wherein the thickness of the reinforcing material layer can be made thin and the surface is smooth.
An indwelling needle constitutes an outer needle through which an inner needle is passed when it is pierced into a living body and has a flexible indwelling needle main body 2. The indwelling needle main body 2 has a structure wherein there exist an inner tube 4 and an outer tube 6 and they are bonded through a reinforcing material layer 5. The reinforcing material layer 5 is formed into a lattice-like structure by winding mutually in the reverse direction and spirally two kinds of linear bodies 51 and 52 on the outer peripheral face of the inner tube 4. The component material of the linear body 52 has a lower m.p. than that of the component material of the linear body 51 and at the intersecting parts 53 of the linear bodies 51 and 52, the linear body 52 is melted and under deformed condition.
