Abstract:

To provide an indwelling needle capable of improving the visibility of flashback, and thereby capable of quickly and securely confirming that the distal end of the indwelling needle reaches a target blood vessel and discriminating between a vein and an artery.

The indwelling needle 10 is configured so that a blade surface 11 projects from the distal end of a catheter 12 in the attached state with a puncture needle 16 inserted into the catheter 12. A spiral groove part 22 is formed on the outer surface of the puncture needle 16. The groove part 22 is extended from the blade surface 11 toward the proximal end side, and formed to a part facing the inner surface of the catheter 12 in the attached state.
