Title:
INERT GAS GENERATING SYSTEM IN AIRCRAFT AND TEMPERATURE CONTROL METHOD FOR SUPPLY AIR FLOWING INTO AIR SEPARATION MODULE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010064733
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method and a system for controlling the temperature of an air separation module efficiently.

This inert gas generating system 10 in aircraft is provided with a compressor system 14 having a first compressor 16 being driven by an electric motor 18 and the air separation module 30 for generating nitrogen enriched air from non-enriched air. The compressor 16 receives air 12 in a cabin and supplies compressed air into an intermediate cooling device 22 of a heat exchanger assembly 20. A heat exchanger 20 is arranged in a ram air duct 40 and receives a ram air stream 50. The compressed air is cooled by the ram air stream 50. The compressor system 14 supplies the non-enriched air having a scope of desired operation temperature into the module 30. A controller 42 reduces speed in accordance with the parameter reaching an undesirable value for bringing temperature of the non-enriched air exceeding the scope of desirable operation temperature. The reduced speed is selected to maintain temperature of the non-enriched air within the scope of desirable operation temperature.
