PURPOSE: To resolve a problem with a simple processing by storing a formed operation program and resolving a program to be resolved with a processing procedure similar to the processing procedure of the stored operation program in accordance with the stored operation program.
CONSTITUTION: This inference control system is provided with an inference engine 1 for referring to a problem resolving knowledge base 4 and meta- knowledge base 5 in order to resolve a problem, forming a resolving tree, arranging execution functions positioned on the terminal of the resolving tree in the order of execution to form an operation program indicating a processing procedure for executing problem resolution, and executing the problem resolution in accordance with the processing procedure specified by the operation program. The formed operation program is stored in the knowledge base 4 to be reserved and a problem to be resolved by a processing procedure similar to the processing procedure specified by the operation program is resolved in accordance with the stored operation program. In the case of executing the problem resolution experienced in the past again, the problem resolution can be more easily and rapidly executed without repeating the same inference.
