Abstract:
To reduce the time for inference arithmetic processing while maintaining inference accuracy required for an inference application in an inference processing apparatus that performs inference using an NN.SOLUTION: An inference processing apparatus includes: inference arithmetic means that is formed of a neural network in which an input layer that receives input of an input image, a first intermediate layer that extracts a feature quantity included in the input image, a first output layer that outputs a first classification result based on the feature quantity extracted by the first intermediate layer, a second intermediate layer that extracts a feature quantity with the output from the first intermediate layer as input, and a second output layer that outputs a second classification result based on the feature quantity extracted by the second intermediate layer are hierarchically connected; and abstraction level determination means that determines the level of abstraction of the classification results. According to the level of abstraction of the first classification result determined by the abstraction level determination means. The inference processing apparatus switches whether to stop arithmetic executed by the inference arithmetic means with the first classification result or execute arithmetic until the second classification result is obtained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
