Abstract:
To provide a thermally expandable refractory material having excellent insertability without sacrificing thermal expandability, shape retentivity, flexibility to follow even a curved face, or flame retardancy.SOLUTION: A thermally expandable refractory material contains, relative to 100 pts.mass of a matrix polymer, thermally expandable graphite of 5-400 pts.mass, an inorganic phosphoric acid-based compound of 1-400 pts.mass, and a fibrous compound of 1-400 pts.mass, the matrix polymer containing rubber and a styrenic thermoplastic elastomer, the content ratio of the rubber to the styrenic thermoplastic elastomer being 95/5-5/95 in mass ratio, and the mass ratio of the thermally expandable graphite to the inorganic phosphoric acid-based compound (thermally expandable graphite/inorganic phosphoric acid-based compound) being 0.05-100.00.SELECTED DRAWING: None
