PURPOSE: To reduce a pressure rising starting period of time in burning gas generating agents for an inflator by using a black explosive for an enhancer for transferring fire to the gas generating agents.
CONSTITUTION: Provided are gas generating agents 51 for generating a gas by burning, an enhancer 41 for transferring fire to the gas generating agents 51, and an ignition means 10 for igniting the enhancer 41. In an inflator 60 for an air bag for expanding the air bag, using the gas from the gas generating agents 51, the enhancer 41 uses a black explosive. The gas generating agents 51 pref. consist of triaminoguanidine nitrate, in addition, if necessary, an oxidant-contg. compsn. Thus combustion gas rising starting period of time is reduced to 10msec. or less. In addition, the inflator having no toxicity, safety, easy handling, and satisfying performance is provided at lower costs.
