Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent generation of noise through collision of an inflator with the inner periphery of the opening of a retainer.
CONSTITUTION: A first opening 22 is formed in one side of a retainer 12 and a second opening 24 is formed in the other side. A shaft part 26 at the tip of an inflator 18 is inserted in the first opening 22. By fastening a nut 30 against a male screw formed on the shaft part 26, the inflator 18 is fixed to the retainer 12, a thermosoftening bush 34 is located between the inner peripheral surface of the second opening 24 of the retainer 12 and the outer peripheral surface of the inflator 18. This constitution prevents the generation of noise owing to a metal touch between the inflator 18 and the inner peripheral surface of the opening of the retainer 12. Since the increase of an internal pressure in an air bag during occurrence of a fire can be relaxed, rupture and flying of a metallic member brought into a brittle state owing to a fire and heat can be prevented.
