Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquisition apparatus and an object detector capable of appropriately acquiring distance information while suppressing a calculation amount even if dot light-receiving positions deviate in a perpendicular direction to an alignment direction of a projection optical system and a light-receiving optical system on an image sensor.SOLUTION: An information acquisition apparatus comprises: a projection optical system projecting a laser beam in a dot pattern; a light-receiving optical system imaging a target area; and a distance acquisition unit searching for a position on a measured image in an X-axis direction in a segment area on a reference image and acquiring distance information. The dot pattern include feature patterns F1 to F4 extending in the X-axis direction. The distance acquisition unit detects positions of the respective feature patterns F1 to F4 in a Y-axis direction, and sets a search execution area for acquiring the distance information. By doing so, it is possible to appropriately acquire the distance information while suppressing a calculation amount even if dots deviate in the Y-axis direction.
