Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquisition device and an object detector capable of improving accuracy of distance detection.SOLUTION: In the information acquisition device, laser light is projected with a predetermined dot pattern, and reflected light is received by a CMOS image sensor. On a light receiving surface of the CMOS image sensor, multiple segment areas are set so as to overlap with each other. On the basis of a dot pattern reflected on a reference surface, a dot pattern for a search included in each segment area is set. When actual measurement is performed, an area identical to the dot pattern for a search included in each segment area is searched for from among dot patterns on the CMOS image sensor. Segment areas adjacent to each other are set so as to overlap with each other in a state of being shifted by one pixel. Thus, resolution to detect the distance is heightened, and accuracy of the distance detection can be improved.
