To provide an information display system excellent in portability and convenience.
The information display system comprises a display device having a display memory property, a communication circuit, and an energy source for operating them and transmits and/or receives display information from an external device 7 in a remote position by radio. The information display system has a circuit for holding display information or receives an instruction to select and change display information, by radio from the external device in the remote position. In the information display system, a display device is a panel for information display which has a display medium enclosed in a space between two substrates facing each other, at least one of which is transparent, and has the display medium moved by application of an electric field to the display medium to display information like an image, or the display medium for use in the panel for information display is constituted of particle groups or a powdery fluid to make two kinds of display mediums different by color and charge characteristics. Furthermore, the panel for information display is an electronic shelf label or an electronic POP.
