To provide a network type information distribution system including a central station and terminal stations by which each terminal station can output information (programs) in various forms without imposing an excessive load on a communication network and the central station can control program contents of each terminal station.

Each terminal station 3 is equipped with information sources such as a hard disk, a television broadcast receiver and a music CD reproducing device. A program management section 36 selects a prescribed information source at a prescribed date and time according to a program table 34 and gives an output signal of the information source to a signal conversion section 38. The signal conversion section 38 generates audio and video signals from the received signal and transmits them to a moving picture projector 42 and a speaker 46.
