To provide information equipment that enables a viewer to view an interrupted program without a failure of viewing even a part of the program under viewing immediately after the end of an interruption caused even if the viewing of a television program by the viewer is interrupted due to a phone call or a visitor.

The information equipment provided with a means that records and reproduces a received video signal comprises: a recording medium for performing video recording; a means that detects a video recording start signal when the video image of the received video signal is directly displayed so as to automatically start the video recording of the displayed video signal during displaying; and a means that reproduces video recording information during video recording when detecting the video recording reproduction start signal during the video recording and records a succeeding video signal during the video recording in parallel.
