To speed up access to a data base and to secure security.
An information managing system contains a client 12 requesting data retrieval from the data base 36, a DB server 16 retrieving pertinent data from the data base 36 in accordance with a retrieval request and a word wide web(WWW) server 10 intermediating between them. In the case of first access from the client 12 through the WWW server 10, the DB server 16 generates peculiar identification information (log-on ID) on access and informs the client 12 of it. When the retrieval request by log-on ID is given by the client 12, the WWW server 10 gives the retrieval request to the DB server 16 at every log-on ID. The DB server 16 retrieves data corresponding to the request from the data base and returns the retrieval result when log-on ID requesting data retrieval is discriminated to be valid.
