PURPOSE: To easily read output information, and to correctly read out a chart and an added visible image by sight by making the color, density, and dot pattern of the copied picture of an original picture different from those of the added picture of the original picture by a controlling means, and composite-copying them on a recording medium.

CONSTITUTION: Area number column data are applied from an SCON 700 to an area designating circuit 224 on every scanning line. The area number column data are extended to serial area numbers on the scanning line of the data column according to scanning picture element positions, and applied to area register groups 224-33. Then, one of area registers 224-33a, (b), (c), and (d) corresponding to the area numbers is selected, and the data are outputted as a processing selecting signal 224a. The data of the area register groups are preliminarily loaded from the SCON 700, and the different processing selecting signals can be obtained for the area number columns by making the held data of the register groups different with each other. Picture processing circuits 205-212 output one of plural parallel picture processed results of each circuit to the next stage according to the processing selecting signal 224a in order to operate a picture processing for each designated area. Finally, the pictures which are different from an area 0 to an area 1 can be obtained on the copy.
