An information management method includes means for identifying a set of pairs of an index word which is described in a specific positional relation with one cell on a table, and a corresponding item as related data of the same cell and means for identifying all the related data items as a sum set obtained by adding related data identified for a cell on a least significant table to a set of summing up related data identified for a cell to which an instruction to display a next low-order table is given, on all the displayed tables sequentially from the display of a most significant table to the display of the least significant table regarding one cell on the least significant table. According to the method, a cell is identified which is on the least significant table in the hierarchy table and in which all the identified related data are in a determined inclusive relation with a retrieval condition designated via retrieval condition input means, and an icon of information disposed in the identified cell is outputted.
