To allow more suitable image output.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus comprises: output means that outputs a video to an external device; switching means that switches an operation mode of the information processing apparatus between a first mode for causing the output means to output the video and a second mode for not causing the output means to output the video; and synchronization control means that, in the output of the video performed by the output means, controls whether to perform genlock based on an external synchronization signal input from the outside. When the synchronization control means receives an instruction to perform genlock while the information processing apparatus operates in the first mode and does not perform genlock, it prevents the start of genlock while the information processing apparatus operates in the first mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
