Abstract:

To solve the problem that it is impossible to suppress an increase in power consumption due to an inrush current with a simple configuration.

An information processing apparatus has a board for controlling the entire information processing apparatus or adding a function to the information processing apparatus, which can be inserted/removed while power is supplied. The information processing apparatus includes: a power supply part, a detection part for detecting that the board is inserted to the information processing apparatus, and a power supply control part for, when it is detected that a plurality of boards are inserted to the information processing apparatus substantially simultaneously, supplying power generated by the power supply part to the plurality of inserted boards at different timings.
