To achieve an information processing apparatus that can improve safety.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus includes a connector to which a first type semiconductor memory that operates with n kinds (n is an integer of 2 or more) of power supply voltages supplied from the outside, or a second type semiconductor memory that operates with m kinds (m is an integer of 1 or more and less than n) of power supply voltages less than the n kinds of power supply voltages can be attached. When configured to supply the m kinds of power supply voltages to the second type semiconductor memory, the information processing apparatus checks whether a notch is present at a predetermined position of the semiconductor memory attached to the connector, and when the notch is present at the predetermined position of the semiconductor memory attached to the connector, supplies the m kinds of power supply voltages to the semiconductor memory.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 25
