Abstract:
To reduce processing time related to decoding in a progressive coding system in which the resolution of a polygon mesh can be gradually decoded.SOLUTION: In an embodiment of the present invention, an information processing apparatus outputs coding data in which the resolution of a polygon mesh used in representing the three-dimensional shape of a subject can be gradually decoded, and has: a mesh simplification unit 202 that creates a base mesh obtained by simplifying an input mesh; a geometry calculation unit 206 that calculates geometry data of a mesh having a higher resolution than that of the base mesh; a texture providing unit 207 that provides texture to the mesh; and a mesh output unit 208 that outputs coding data including topology data related to the topology of the base mesh and texture and geometry data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
