Abstract:
To provide a technique for preventing nonconformity of versions of a plurality of programs of an update object resulting from an interruption of an update process in an information processing device having a function of using a backup copy to restore a program.SOLUTION: An image formation device (information processing device) activates a boot loader and then activates a first program or a second program from the boot loader. The image formation device activates the second program from the boot loader in an update process using the second program and updates the first program, a backup copy of the first program and the boot loader by the second program. Thereafter, the image formation device reboots the image formation device, activates the first program from the boot loader, and updates the second program, a backup copy of the second program and a backup copy of the boot loader by the first program.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
