To normally enable the restoration of a system even though unexpected power-off occurs during update of firmware in comparison with the case where the firmware is written in a previously secured dedicated area.SOLUTION: An information processing device has a control part for writing new firmware in a first address section in a storage medium used in storage of temporary data when updating firmware, managing the first address section as an area used by the firmware, and also managing a second address section in a storage medium storing the current firmware as an area used by temporary data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
