Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of coherency reporting when read data are given from a bus other than a local bus of a request source processor as generally generated in a NUMA or memory directory base system.
SOLUTION: This information processing system includes a plurality of bus devices coupled to at least one memory device through buses. A first device (request source) on the bus issues a request to obtain data and coherency information, and monitors the coherence information during a designated coherency response interval. A second device (response device) sends, within the designated coherency response interval, a first signal indicating that the coherency information is returned, and sends a second signal to provide the coherence information to the request source within the second interval.
