The business process management system 100 is composed of a BPM executor 10, an adapter 30, and other storages. A business application executor 40 executes an business application. When detecting an business error as an event transmitted via the adapter 30 from the business application executor 40 or as an exception when a business executor 14 executes a business action, a compensation processing schedule management 17 executes compensation processing scheduling, and a compensation processing executor 16 executes compensation processing based on the contents of compensation processing written to a compensation processing content storage 18.
