To provide an information processing system and information processor for protecting information by restricting transmitting and receiving of information between an information processor and an optional transmitting and receiving device.
An image processor (information processor) 1 stores a device driver 161 making a PC (transmitting and receiving device) 2 transmit and receive information with the image processor 1, and transmits the device driver 161 from the image processor 1 to the PC 2 to introduce it to the PC 2. The PC 2 transmits information to the image processor 1 by use of the introduced device driver, and the image processor 1 authenticates that this information is the information transmitted by use of the device driver 161 provided by itself. The image processor 1 performs the processing of the information received from the PC 2 which succeeded in authentication, and inhibits the processing of the information received from a transmitting and receiving device using a device driver of unknown origin which failed to be authenticated.
