Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the practicality of an information processing system which is provided with a main unit such as a personal computer, a home video game machine or the like and an artificial creature system which is connected to the main unit and performs movements in response to the movement data by providing its movements with playfulness and meanings.
SOLUTION: The main unit receives a message via a network, extracts movement data from the received message and transmits the received movement data or movement data generated according to the extracted movement data to the artificial creature system. On the other hand, the artificial creature system is provided with a sensor for detecting movements toward itself. When the artificial creature system is operated in response to the reception of a message, the main unit transmits a reply message to the source of the received message.
