Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the master-slave switching operations and to improve the working efficiency for restoration of a built-in magnetic disk device by providing a master-slave switch control means of the built-in and external magnetic disk devices.
SOLUTION: When a built-in magnetic disk device 13 of an information processor 11 is broken by some reason and its system does not start, a maintenance magnetic disk device storing an operating system is connected to the processor 11 as an external magnetic disk device 14. Then the master-slave switching operations are performed via a master-slave switch control part 12 for the magnetic disk devices. Thus the devices 14 and 13 are defined as a master and a slave respectively. As a result, the system of the device 14 is started and the system and user files of the device 13 can be easily saved.
