Abstract:
To notify printer's capability and status detected in the printer without depending on the performance of a host computer.
The host computer acquires printer's capability data defined in the printer (step S1001), and when data not defined in a data table are included in the acquired capability data (step S1002: NO), the undefined capability data are additionally recorded (step S1004). When a display request for the printer's capability data is output, the printer's capability data are displayed on a display by using the additionally recorded data table (step S1006).
