PURPOSE: To prevent a failure from occuring in a resume recovery processing by holding the state information of an input / output device in a backup memory when a power source is OFF or a display housing is closed.
CONSTITUTION: When a power source switch 5 is turned OFF, the contents are transmitted to a CPU 1, a resume saving processing is performed and the state information of a program or the like is stored in the backup memory 3. At this time, when a floppy is inserted to a floppy disk drive 2, its state information is stored in the memory as well. Thereafter, when the switch 5 is turned ON, the contents are transmitted to the CPU 1, a resume restoration processing is performed, the contents of the floppy disk drive 2 at present are read to be compared with the contents stored in the backup memory 3 at the time of the resume saving processing and an interrupted program is reexecuted when the contents coincide. When the contents are different, an error message is displayed at a flat panel display 7 and a correct disk state is attained.
