PURPOSE: To enable the optional and easy setting and change of the functions of plural position indicating equipments in a tablet input device by setting or changing the function of the position indicating equipment based on information from the tablet input device.

CONSTITUTION: When the position indicating equipment is used and an identifying code is outputted in the tablet input device 10, a retrieving means 34 retrieves whether or not the function is set in the relevant identifying code in a storage means 33. The set function is displayed on the screen of a display device by an in-use indicating equipment function display processing means 35 when the function is set or unsetting is displayed when the function is not set yet. When a function setting/change processing starting means 31 starts a function setting/change processing means 32 so as to operate the position indicating equipment in the tablet input device 10, the function of the position indicating equipment is set or changed and it is stored in the storage means 33 in accordance with the identifying code.
