PURPOSE: To facilitate registration and management of a large quantity of processing program information by writing reproduced processing programs from plural floppy disks on an optical disk and storing the latest information on a magnetic disk to perform the program processing.

CONSTITUTION: Processing program information for registration, retrieval, deletion, or the like read out from floppy disks set to a floppy disk device 25 is written on the system optical disk set to an optical disk device 26 together with management information of the program name, the version number, and other information in accordance with the program select mode set by a keyboard 21. The latest information having a maximum version number out of this processing program information is written on the magnetic disk of a magnetic disk device 24 unless otherwise designated, and the operation of a main control part 11 of a picture processing device is controlled by this processing program to control registration, retrieval, and deletion of information on the optical disk for picture of an optical disk device 20, and thus, registration and management of a large quantity of processing program information are facilitated because the optical disk having a large capacity is used.
