An information providing device for providing receipt information relating to merchandise to be purchased by a customer includes: a total amount calculation part for, on the basis of the price of the merchandise and the purchase quantity of the merchandise, calculating the total amounts of the merchandise for each merchandise; a unit price calculation part for, on the basis of the total amounts calculated by the total amount calculation part and the quantity of items constituting the merchandise, calculating the unit prices of the items; and a receipt information generation part for generating receipt information for making a printer perform receipt printing on the basis of the total amounts of the merchandise and the unit prices of the items.
