Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval service system which can surely provide a radio terminal user of a wide-area radio network with information regarding the area in which the user is present and information regarding stores, etc., positioned nearby it.
SOLUTION: A portable terminal 20 of the user is equipped with interfaces for both a radio LAN 20 like Bluetooth and a wide-area radio network 10 like a portable telephone network. The radio LAN 20 is used to receive position information A assigned to a radio server 300 that a store side provides from the radio server 300 and start the area information retrieval service of an area server 100 in the wide-area radio network 10 according to the position information A. As area information retrieval results, advertisement information that the store side having provided the position information A is transmitted together with information that the user requests and those pieces of information are surely displayed on the display screen 2011 of the portable terminal 200.
