This information providing server retrieves and provides information desired by a user to a user terminal. This server is provided with a database for storing the information to be provided to the user terminal, a receiving part for receiving a retrieval code obtained by a medium other than a Web site from the user terminal, an information retrieval part for retrieving the database on the retrieval code to acquire corresponding basic information, an information working part for giving additive information to the basic information only when the information is performed by use of the retrieval code, and a transmitting part for transmitting the basic information with the given additive information to the user terminal.
