Abstract:

To provide an information reading apparatus and an image reading apparatus, capable of connecting another information reading apparatus to an existing information reading apparatus without modifying the existing information reading apparatus, and capable of using respective information reading apparatus independently or as one information reading unit.

The information processing apparatus includes a first information reading apparatus (flatbed scanner 10) which is connected to the information processing apparatus (PC 40) and reads information on a sheet D located in a reading area (glass 11), and a second information reading apparatus (sheet feed scanner 1) which is connected to the first information reading apparatus and reads an image of the sheet D to be conveyed.
