CONSTITUTION: A signal processing part 2 compresses video/audio information from a VTR 1 by an MPEG system, and generates a time base-multiplexed recording information signal SR. An adder 3 time base-multiplexes the recording information signal SR and a multiplex additional information signal SADD by a control signal SCR of a controller 7, and generates a stream SS, and sends it to a recording means to a stamper disk through a modulator 4. At this time, the controller 7 multiplexes an additional information signal SAD consisting of access information, etc., and a reproducing device specific signal SI through a multiplexer 6 to generate the multiplex additional information signal SADD. The multiplex additional information signal SADD is recorded on e.g. an innermost peripheral area of a disk, and is read out first as the volume descriptor, and permits reproduction for the specified reproducing device.
