Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information-recording apparatus and an information- reproducing apparatus which can correctly reproduce last code data of a data sector even when information is recorded without any relation among data sectors in a DVD-RAM (DVD random access memory) demodulating the information recorded with an 8/16 modulation according to an 8/16 demodulation.
SOLUTION: In recording information to a DVD-RAM after modulating by 8/16, a 16-bit postamble (PA) 25 including state information necessary for demodulating last 16-bit code data of a data sector 22 is added immediately after the data sector 22. When the information is to be reproduced, the last code data of the data sector 22 is reproduced with the use of the PA 25. When data recorded to the DVD-RAM is to be reproduced by a demodulator for a DVD-ROM (DVD read only memory), a part of the PA and a part of a leading sync of the data sector are coupled thereby to obtain the state information to reproduce the last code data of the data sector 22.
